After five and a half years with WMBD-TV, Shelbey Roberts left at the end of May.

On June 19, former WMBD-TV journalist Shelbey Roberts will begin her new career as a morning anchor in Charleston, South Carolina.

In a June 7 update on Facebook, Roberts wrote she will work as an anchor for Gray Media Group's Live 5 News.

This is not Roberts' first time on the East Coast. She has previously worked in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Savannah, Georgia.

Roberts had worked in Peoria as a reporter and news anchor for WMBD-TV for roughly five-and-a-half years before the move. She previously announced her last day at the Peoria station would be on May 31.

"Whether we were profiling the inspirational stories that make us Central Illinois Proud or tackling challenging conversations, thank you for trusting me enough to share your experiences and for being supportive of the critical work local journalists do," Roberts wrote in her Facebook announcement.
