Former Prosecutor General Venediktova posted as ambassador to Switzerland

In early August, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba nominated the former chief law enforcement official for the ambassadorship. He said that Venediktova has the competence to work as an ambassador and can prove herself on the international stage.

Zelenskyy fired Venediktova on July 17. Numerous collaborators among her subordinates were cited as the reason for dismissal.

Andrey Kostin, an MP from Zelenskyy’s political party Servant of the People and chairman of the Parliamentary Judicial Committee, was appointed as the new Prosecutor General on July 27.
Venediktova was elected to the parliament as a member of the Servant of the People party in 2019. On Dec. 27, 2019, Zelesnkyy made her acting head of the State Bureau of Investigation. She became Prosecutor General on March 17, 2020.
