Former Providence coach Ed Cooley's home under agreement

One week after former Providence College basketball coach Ed Cooley's East Greenwich house hit the market, it has gone under contract.

The 4-bedroom, 6-bathroom house at 55 Lenihan Lane is listed for $1.9 million, and according to the real estate site Zillow, the home is under contract with a potential buyer for the asking price.

On Wednesday, Providence is set to introduce its new men's basketball and women's basketball coaches, Kim English and Erin Batth, respectively.

When Cooley's home hit the market, the longtime Providence coach and city native had not yet announced his departure from the Friars program, but the listing seemed to confirm speculation that he was on the move. Later that day, it became official as Providence College announced Cooley's exit. The Providence coach had signed a sales disclosure form on the East Greenwich home on March 3, but last week he told ABC6 that his family was in the process of downsizing and moving to a second home in Providence.
