Former ‘That’s So Raven’ star Orlando Brown arrested in Ohio for domestic violence

A former Disney Channel star was arrested Thursday morning on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge, authorities in Lima, Ohio said.

Orlando Brown is an actor best known for his role as Eddie Thomas in all four seasons of the hit teen sitcom “That’s So Raven.” He was arrested after allegedly threatening a family member with a hammer and a knife.

According to the Lima Police Department, officers received a call about an ongoing fight in a residence on the 400 block of Baxter St. just before 10 a.m.

When police arrived at the scene, Brown was inside the residence. A man who identified himself as his brother told officers the 35-year-old actor had threatened him with a hammer and “broken off knife blade,” The Hollywood Reporter said, citing a police report.

The victim told authorities Brown had been staying with him for about two weeks because he didn’t have a place to go and he didn’t want his brother to have to go to a homeless shelter.

It’s unclear who alerted authorities about the fight, but TMZ identified the man being threatened as Matthew. The outlet also reported the two are not blood relatives.

Brown was charged on suspicion of domestic violence involving imminent physical harm by threat of force.

The charge was downgraded to misdemeanor aggravated menacing at his arraignment on Friday. He is being held on a cash bond, and an attorney has not yet been appointed to represent him, according to court records.

The former child star — who also had roles on “Lizzie McGuire,” “Moesha” and “Family Matters” — had been previously arrested for narcotics possession, alleged burglary, and for failing to appear in court for a case of domestic violence, TMZ reported.
