RUSSELL COUNTY, Va. (WJHL) – A former first responder in Russell County faces numerous charges after allegedly having sex with a teenager and possessing child porn.

According to the Russell County Sheriff’s Office, Eric Arnold, of Castlewood, was arrested Feb. 19. The sheriff’s office identified him as a former first responder for an agency within the county.

Virginia court records list 20 charges against Arnold. Those charges include multiple counts of criminal misdemeanor consensual sex with a child over the age of 15 and felony possession of child pornography.

An investigator with the sheriff’s office told News Channel 11 that Arnold was arrested following a tip from social services.

Administrators at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail facility in Abingdon confirmed that as of Tuesday evening, Arnold was being held at the jail.
