Former Sixers big man Vincent Poirier to sign with Spanish team Real Madrid
Former Philadelphia 76ers big man Vincent Poirier has found a new home to play basketball. After a very brief Sixers career, he only played 10 games in Philadelphia, he was traded to the New York Knicks as part of the 3-team deal that brought George Hill to Philadelphia.
The Knicks then released Poirier shortly after the deal and he was upset with a few things. He was upset that Sixers coach Doc Rivers did not reach out to him about the trade, an accusation which Rivers then said he did reach out, and he was upset about a lack of playing time.
Due to the lack of a real NBA opportunity, Poirier is headed back overseas. Per Jose Sanchez, he will sign with Real Madrid in Spain after averaging 0.8 points and 1.4 rebounds for the Sixers.

Poirier has played 32 games total in the NBA, 22 with the Boston Celtics, and he averaged 1.5 points and 1.8 rebounds in those games in the league.
