Former ‘SNL’ writer, stand-up comedian and actor coming to Columbia for performance

Comedian John Mulaney is coming to Columbia for a performance this fall.

The former “Saturday Night Live” writer turned actor will bring his “John Mulaney In Concert” show to the Township Auditorium.

The performance is scheduled for Nov. 16 at the venerable showcase in downtown Columbia.

Tickets will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Friday, and will be available on ticketmaster.com. Various presale events will be held on Wednesday and Thursday.

Ticket prices range from $59.50 to $129.50, according to the Township Auditorium’s website.

While Mulaney has three performances scheduled in Georgia — in Athens, Macon and Savannah from Nov. 17-19 — this is the only tour stop currently listed for South Carolina.

Mulaney rose to prominence as a writer on “SNL” and several of his stand-up comedy performances are on Netflix. Mulaney has also hosted “SNL” multiple times, becoming a member of the Five-Timers Club in 2022. He has won multiple Emmy Awards for his work on “SNL.”

He’s appeared in movies and TV, and is also known for his voice work on projects like “Big Mouth,” “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” and “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish,” among others.
