We learned something new about former Sporting Kansas City (née Wizards) star Jimmy Conrad this week: He can keep a secret.

Oh, and he can act, too.

Conrad, the 2005 MLS Defender of the Year who was part of the United States’ 2006 World Cup team, appeared in the latest episode of “Ted Lasso.” Conrad played a member of the fictional Richmond AFC soccer team, and he had a fun reaction to seeing the gruff Roy Kent in a tie-dye shirt.

Fans on Twitter loved seeing Conrad pop up during the episode.

“My phone melted!” Conrad joked about the response from friends. “But it’s been nothing but positive vibes, so all is good.”

Positive vibes fits well with the feel of “Ted Lasso.”

Conrad said he filmed the spot last August and had to keep it a secret. Mission accomplished, but perhaps we all missed a clue.

It was around that time that Conrad met with co-creators and stars Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt at an Arsenal soccer game.

After the episode went live, Conrad posted a thank you to the show runners in an Instagram post.

“I’ll be forever grateful to @brendanhunting, #jasonsudeikis, @joekellyjk47, @mrbrettgoldstein, the great @chip_fresh, and everyone involved with #tedlasso for their kindness when I visited the set last August……AND FOR PUTTING ME IN THE SHOW!” Conrad wrote. “A dream come true.”
