Former Tampa home of Derek Jeter, Tom Brady to be torn down and rebuilt

Plans have been released for a new Davis Islands mansion that will replace the home built by former New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter.

Last year, the fate of the home at 58 Bahama Circle was called into question when a demolition permit was filed with the city. A Friday news release from Ellison Construction confirmed that the original building will be demolished and an even larger, 30,000-square-foot home will be built in its place.

Construction is expected to begin next year and will take about three years to complete.

The current 22,000-square-foot home is already one of the largest in Tampa. It was custom-built for Jeter and his family. They moved in shortly after construction was completed in 2011, but eventually relocated to Miami. In 2020, football star Tom Brady and his family began renting the mansion from Jeter.

Jeter sold the home for $22.5 million in 2022, making it the most expensive ever sold in the Tampa Bay area.

Rumors swirled about the mysterious new owner, who is listed on the deed as “Zebb.com Trust.”

Zebb.com is a cryptocurrency app that allows people to invest Indian rupees into bitcoin. On its website, it mentions affiliations with Zebpay, a major cryptocurrency exchange headquartered in Singapore.

The home may be occupied by health care entrepreneur and philanthropist Siddhartha Pagidipati. Both he and his wife, Ami Pagidipati, listed 58 Bahama Circle as their primary address on voter registration records.

Pagidipati could not immediately be reached for comment.

The new home, designed by Landry Design Group with interior design by Annette English, will feature six bedrooms, nine full bathrooms, 11 half-bathrooms, a gym and a swimming pool.

The design will add substantial new green space aimed at creating a parklike setting.

“The forms of the home are arranged to create courtyards and garden spaces throughout, surrounding the structure with lush landscaping,” said Richard Landry, founder of Landry Design Group. “This softness finds its way onto the facade, where the classical stone elements are complimented by more contemporary green walls and bronze detailing.”

The owner will donate materials from the current home, including cabinets, appliances, furniture and lighting, to Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County. The organization will sell the donated items at its ReStore and use the proceeds to build, rehabilitate and repair affordable housing.
