Former TCU center Eddie Lampkin Jr. has found a new college basketball home.

Lampkin, who left the team abruptly before the postseason, announced that he has committed to playing for Colorado.

The 6f-toot-11, 300-pound Lampkin averaged 6.3 points and 5.9 rebound in 24 games in the the 2022-23 season. He gained national attention in the 2022 NCAA tournament when he scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds against Arizona.

“I’m going to Colorado,” Lampkin told 247sports. “I committed because I love the coach. He called me and told me what I needed to hear. I like their players, I know KJ Simpson, one of my close friends plays on the team and I’ve been able to build a relationship with him and KJ. They’ve been helping me throughout.”

The Houston native reportedly picked the Pac-12 school over Arkansas, Cincinnati, Florida, Georgetown, Memphis and Xavier.

He scheduled an official visit to Boulder, Colo., later this month. Now, the visit will be a formality.

His announcement comes on the heels of the Horned Frogs announcing that Jameer Nelson Jr., a graduate guard, is transferring from Delaware to TCU.

The son of former NBA all-star Jameer Nelson, Nelson Jr. averaged 20.6 points per game last season at Delaware. He also averaged 4.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists while shooting 45% from the field. He plans to graduate in the summer, allowing him to be eligible immediately via the graduate transfer route according to ESPN.

Meanwhile, two TCU reserves have also announced that they are leaving coach Jamie DIxon’s program. P.J. Haggerty and center Souleymane Doumbia entered the transfer portal after NCAA tournament.

Haggerty, a 6-3 freshman guard, played in six games, averaging 2.8 points per game.

Dohmbia, a 6-11 junior center, averaged 0.9 points and 1.0 rebounds in 21 games this season. In 50 career games, he averaged 0.9 points and 0.9 rebounds.
