Former Tennessee Titans RB LenDale White says he had 'widow-maker' heart attack

Speaking on the I Am Athlete podcast, former Tennessee Titans running back LenDale White revealed he had a heart attack four years ago he wasn't supposed to come back from.

White, who played for the Titans from 2006-09, described the heart attack as a "widow-maker" while talking to former NFL players Marshawn Lynch, Brandon Marshall and Pacman Jones, who was White's teammate with the Titans.

"My (left anterior descending artery) was clogged, and I had to have two stints shot into my heart so my blood can flow again," White said. "It's called a widow-maker because you're really not supposed to make it back from that."

Following the heart attack, White said he's changed his living habits, targeting both his physical and mental health. He said he's working out more now than he did during his college and professional playing days and, in the past, he's given credit for former Titans teammate Chris Johnson for helping him straighten out his mental priorities.

White ran for 24 touchdowns in four seasons with the Titans. The Titans traded White to the Seattle Seahawks in 2010 but White was quickly released and despite bouncing around to a handful of teams in 2010-11 he never played in the NFL again.
