Jan. 14—LARAMIE — After losing both of its starting quarterbacks to the transfer portal last month, the University of Wyoming has added some reinforcements heading into the spring.

Former Utah State signal-caller Andrew Peasley announced his commitment to the Cowboys on Thursday afternoon, marking the second quarterback to transfer in since the start of the new year. Evan Svoboda of Snow College committed to the Pokes last week.

Peasley got limited action in nine games last season, passing for 415 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions, while adding 161 yards and a score on the ground. He finished his Utah State career with 1,345 total yards and 10 touchdowns.

The senior-to-be from La Grande, Oregon was a three-star recruit and the No. 70 pro-style in the class of 2018, according to 247Sports.

Peasley joins a UW quarterback room that entered the off-season with 13 total pass attempts at the Division I level. Sean Chambers, who started 2021 as the starter, has transferred to Montana State, while Potato Bowl most valuable player Levi Williams is now at Utah State.
