Former Yanukovych-era minister charged with treason

According to law enforcement, Tabachnyk helped manage the work of Volodymyr Saldo and Yevhen Balitsky – collaborators, who were “appointed” to lead occupation “administrations” in Russia-occupied areas of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.

In particular, Tabachnyk was involved with healthcare, education, and organization of the so-called “referendums,” which Moscow as pretexts for its attempted annexation of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.

On May 1, he connected the collaborators with Russian Deputy Healthcare Minister Andrey Plutnitsky, so that they could "establish processes in the field of healthcare" in temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

According to Ukraine’s SBU security service, Tabachnyk worked on organizing meetings between Russian collaborators, as well as collecting data for them on the number of infrastructure facilities, educational institutions, medical facilities, and "polling stations" in occupied Ukrainian territories. He was in contact with the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, and prepared a document for him on the need to increase security measures at those facilities.

Furthermore, Tabachnyk is accused of cooperating with an operative of Russian FSB’s 5^th Service, while working to “open a network of pharmacies" in Moscow-occupied Ukrainian territory.

Tabachnyk has been wanted by the SBU since 2015 – for allegedly abusing his office for personal gain.
