Fort Collins I-25 lane closures this week shouldn't impact Rocky Mountain Showdown traffic

Multiple lane closures of Interstate 25 will take place this week but should not impact those traveling to the Colorado State University vs. University of Colorado football game at 8 p.m. Saturday in Boulder (as long as weather doesn't delay anything).

Here's a look at the Fort Collins-area closures for the North I-25 Express Lanes project, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation:

Full closure of I-25 between Harmony Road and Mulberry Street

Southbound lanes of I-25 will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, to allow crews to install drainage pipe, multiple overhead signs, electrical and tolling elements, and to finish concrete work.

There will be no access to southbound I-25 from Prospect Road during the full closure.

Southbound I-25 traffic will need to use the Mulberry Street/Colorado Highway 14 exit and continue east on Mulberry Street to Colorado Highway 257. Turn south on Colorado 257, continue south to Harmony Road and turn right. Continue west to the southbound I-25 on-ramp.

Prospect Road to southbound I-25 traffic will go northbound on I-25 to Mulberry Street/Colorado 14 exit and follow the same directions as above.

Nightly lane closures of I-25 between Windsor and Fort Collins

Single lane closures on I-25 will take place between Colorado Highway 392 and Mulberry Street from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Thursday, Sept. 14, to refresh lane lines.

U.S. Highway 34 full closures of on-ramp at I-25

Full closures of the eastbound U.S. Highway 34 on-ramp to northbound I-25 are scheduled from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, and Wednesday, Sept. 13, for electrical work on new traffic signals on U.S. 34.

Eastbound U.S. 34 to the northbound I-25 on-ramp traffic will go south on I-25 to the Colorado Highway 402 exit, turn east and continue onto northbound I-25.

A full closure of the westbound U.S. 34 on-ramp to southbound I-25 will take place 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Westbound U.S. 34 to southbound I-25 on-ramp traffic will go north on I-25 to the Crossroads Boulevard exit and turn west. Continue west to the southbound I-25 on-ramp.
