Fort Collins spring sports state championship tracker: Postseason brackets, scores, schedules

It's championship season in Colorado!

Spring is always a busy season for high school sports, with 10 activities holding championship events, playoffs or postseasons this May and June.

Those include: boys and girls lacrosse, boys and girls track and field, boys and girls soccer, boys swimming, baseball, girls tennis and girls golf.

In the Fort Collins area, there are some major contenders in a few sports. And don't forget: Magical playoff runs (think Fort Collins baseball in 2021) are always possible.

Given the busy schedule on tap, here's a look at all the scores, schedules and brackets for our local teams during the spring championship season. We'll also link and direct you to our coverage of each sport on this page.

The boys state swimming and diving championships return to the Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center in Thornton, with Class 4A on May 12-13 followed by Class 5A on May 13-14.

The baseball regular season just concluded May 17. The top eight seeds in classes 3A-5A will host regional play from May 20-23.

Double-elimination state tournaments will follow May 27-28, with the Final Four and championships in each class set for June 3-4.

The girls golf season is still ongoing, with regional play occurring the week of May 22-28.

  • Tuesday, May 24: 4A Region 3 (Windsor at Quail Dunes, Fort Morgan)

  • Wednesday, May 25: 3A Region 3 (Res. Christian, Liberty Common at Mariana Butte)

Boys volleyball

The Poudre School District boys volleyball team had a fantastic inaugural campaign, going 16-7 in the regular season and making regional play.

The Stars ultimately fell to Eaglecrest 3-0 in a play-in match on April 29, ending their first-ever season.
