Fort Lauderdale airport evacuated due to security threat

A terminal at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport was evacuated Monday after a security threat on a day when bad weather had already disrupted dozens of flights.

The airport tweeted that flights were resuming after a threat just before 2 p.m. in Terminal 3, home to JetBlue Airways and American Airlines.

Airport and Broward sheriff’s officials did not provide details.

As of noon Monday, the airport had already recorded 38 canceled flights and 71 delays due to bad weather, the airport reported on Twitter.

The FlightAware flight tracker showed 186 delays as of 2:30 p.m.
