- We have this just in. The Broward Sheriff's Office arrested a Fort Lauderdale police officer on two counts of transmission of material harmful to minors. Detectives in Minnesota say on at least two occasions Louis Walsh engaged in sexual conversations with an undercover detective who they say he believed was an underage girl. Walsh worked special security details at Cardinal Gibbons High School where he was also a wrestling coach and St. Anthony Catholic School.

In a statement, Fort Lauderdale police say, in part, they are shocked and disappointed to learn of the officer's arrest. They say the allegations do not reflect the character and professionalism expected of members of the agency.

Walsh is now on administrative leave without pay. They're asking anyone who feels they may have been a victim to contact them immediately at 954-888-5290.
