Fort Madison girls open season with victory against rival Ottumwa

Molly Knipe scored nine points and pulled down 13 rebounds to lead the Fort Madison High School girls basketball team to a 34-25 win over Ottumwa on Monday at Evans Middle School in Ottumwa.

Camille Kruse added eight points for the Bloodhounds, while Irelynd Sargent scored seven points.

Fort Madison travels to Bloomfield to play Davis County on Nov. 28.

CAMP POINT CENTRAL/SOUTHEASTERN 56, WEST CENTRAL 37: Shelby Bowman poured in 30 points, but the Heat came out on the short end in a loss at the Cranberry Classic in Oneida, Illinois.

Also for the Heat, Addie Seitz scored five points and Lauren Winters scored two points.

A-TOWN 60, ILLINI WEST 54: Rylee Reed scored 17 points to lead the Chargers in a loss at Abingdon.

Also for the Chargers, Elly Krieg scored 15 points, Allison Icenogle had 12 points and Reagan Reed scored six points.

BOYS BASKETBALL

HENRY SENACHWINE 33, WEST CENTRAL 20: Mason Carnes scored 12 points and Kaiden Droste added four points in the Heat's season-opening loss at Oneida, Illinois.
