Fort Smith Marshals announce 2024 Opening Day, season schedule

FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Fort Smith Marshals released the schedule for their inaugural season on Wednesday, according to a news release.

The schedule consists of 68 games, 34 at home and 34 on the road with a two-day All-Star break in July. No All-Star Game will be played but teams will be released, the release says.

The Marshals’ season will kick off on May 23 as they open a four-game series against Texarkana (name TBD).

The other teams Fort Smith will face throughout the season in the Mid-America League are the Abilene Flying Bison, the Sherman Shadowcats, the White Oak Timberwolves and Joplin (name TBD).

The Marshals will play their home games at Crowder Field on the campus of the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith.

“We are so excited to take this new schedule and ready to build an exciting and family-fun atmosphere surrounding the 34-game home schedule,” Fort Smith General Manager Greg Kigar said in the release.
