Fort Worth has 4 dog parks to have fun with your pups. Here’s what each of them offer
As the weather starts to get warmer, get your furry friend out of the house with a trip to one of these dog parks in Fort Worth. The dog parks provide a great opportunity to get your pup off the leash, whether for exercise, socialization or just a breath of fresh air.
The city has four dog parks. Scroll down for their locations, hours, features and size.
First, here are the rules for Fort Worth dog parks...
Dogs must be licensed with current rabies vaccination on tags. Dogs owned by city residents must have city-licensed tags from Animal Services.
Dogs exhibiting aggressive behavior must be removed immediately.
Dogs must be on a secured leash while entering and exiting the park, and until inside the double-gate entry.
Do not hang a leash on a fence. Owners must have a visible leash at all times.
Owners are to stay within the park and within view of their dogs.
The small dog area is for under 40 pounds only. Small dogs may enter the large dog area, but it is not recommended.
Puppies under 4 months are not permitted.
Dogs shall be under voice control of owners at all times.
Kids must be strictly supervised. An adult must accompany kids under 12.
Repair damage done by your dog (i.e. holes).
No recreational sports, food or drinks.
No dogs in season.
Service animals must be harnessed, leashed or tethered at all times, unless the devices interfere with the animal’s work or the disability prevents their use.
Fort Woof Dog Park
Location: 751 Beach St., Fort Worth 76111
Hours: 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., Tuesday-Sunday; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Mondays
Features: Picnic tables, agility courses, water fountains, shaded shelters and waste stations
Size: 5 acres
Fort Woof was recognized by Dog Fancy Magazine as the “No. 1 Dog Park in the Nation” in 2006 and as City Voter’s the “Best Dog Park in the Metroplex” in 2009.
This intimate park features 3.4 acres for large dogs and 1.6 acres for smaller dogs, making it easy to stay close to your dog. Agility courses, water fountains, shaded shelters and waste stations make the visit more comfortable for both you and your four-legged friend. Fort Woof is closed Monday mornings 5:30-11 for maintenance. It may close after rainfall if the ground is deemed too saturated.
ZBonz Dog Park
Location: 6950 W. Camp Bowie Blvd., Fort Worth 76116
Hours: 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., Tuesday-Sunday
Features: Shelters, agility items, pet fountains, aerated ponds and picnic tables
Size: 10 acres
ZBonz is a fully-irrigated park built on the former Z. Boaz Golf Course. ZBonz has separate sections for large and small dogs, sized at 7 acres and 3 acres. It’s also equipped with two shelters, various agility items, pet fountains and two aerated ponds for pups of all sizes and dispositions. ZBonz is closed Mondays for maintenance. It may close after rainfall if the ground is deemed too saturated.
Bark Park at First Flight
Location: 2700 Mercedes Ave., Fort Worth 76107
Hours: 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., Tuesday-Sunday; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Mondays
Features: Benches, trails, drinking fountain, electrical box, pet station and picnic tables
Size: 0.6 acres
Bark Park is a small urban park near West 7th Street. It’s a fenced area, approximately 3,200 square feet, within First Flight Park. The park is recommended for small dogs only; large dogs are not recommended due to the limited space.
Calhound Dog Park
Location: 409 E. Annie St., Fort Worth 76104
Hours: 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., daily
Features: Patio, chairs, pet station, shade structure and tables
Size: 0.4 acres
Calhound Dog Park is a small urban park near the South Main area. It’s a small fenced in area, located within Calhoun Park.
