Forward joins Lima News as news editor

Jan. 22—LIMA — A new staff member has joined The Lima News.

Jeff Forward, a 1997 graduate of The Ohio State University, is the news editor. Forward began work last week in Lima working with David Trinko, who was promoted to editor following the retirement of long-time editor Jim Krumel.

"We're excited to bring Jeff onto our talented team here at The Lima News," Trinko said.

In his new role, Forward will manage the newsroom staff on a daily basis and continue the impactful journalism and reporting already being done.

A native of Westerville, Ohio, Forward most recently worked as a regional editor and senior suburban reporter for The Houston Chronicle, in Houston, Texas. There, he managed a twice-weekly suburban edition of The Chronicle called The Woodlands Villager.

"I am excited to be home in Ohio, closer to family," Forward said. "The Lima News is a leader in the community, and having a seven-day print publication is a testament to the commitment to the community and quality journalism from AIM Media Midwest. I look forward to getting to know the people and places of the region."

Forward has been a professional journalist since 1997, when he began working at The Appeal-Democrat in Marysville, Calif. He has worked as a reporter and editor at newspapers in California, Ohio, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Texas and Indiana. In his spare time, Forward follows college football and cook. He is a chef as well as a former professional soccer referee. Forward also refereed NCAA soccer for 15 seasons.
