Four Berks teams qualify for District 3 tennis team tournament

May 3—Four Berks County teams have qualified for the boys District 3 Team Tennis Tournament that starts on Wednesday.

In Class 2A, Wyomissing is the No. 2 seed, Conrad Weiser is No. 3 and Berks Catholic is No. 4. Wilson, the only Berks Class 3A team to make the eight-team field, is the No. 7 seed.

The 2A tournament quarterfinals are on Wednesday with Berks champion Conrad Weiser (18-1) facing No. 6 seed Susquehannock (8-2) at noon at RCW Athletic Club in Lancaster.

Wyomissing (10-1) also will play at RCW Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. against No. 7 seed East Pennsboro (11-1).

At the Hershey Racquet Club, Berks Catholic (12-2) will face No. 5 seed Donegal (10-3) at 3:30 p.m. Lancaster Catholic (14-0) is the No. 1 seed.

Wilson (11-4) will open the tournament Thursday at 4 p.m. against No. 2 Hershey (13-0) at Hershey High School.

Dallastown is the No. 1 seed in Class 3A.

The top three teams from each class will advance to the PIAA Tournament.
