Four communities combine forces to benefit the Peter Maurin Center in Akron
Cuyahoga Falls, Munroe Falls, Silver Lake, and Stow will join together for a cold-weather donation drive benefiting the Peter Maurin Center.
“Our community has a long history of helping those in need,” said Cuyahoga Falls Mayor Don Walters. “This donation drive is an opportunity to assist local families and individuals who need a helping hand.”
The donation drive runs Monday, Nov. 13, through Friday, Dec. 17.
"What I heard from residents is that they knew this was a problem, but they just didn't know how to help," said Stow Mayor John Pribonic. "This gave them a connection and once they knew how to help, the turnout was incredible."
Each of the four communities will have donation bins in their city halls so that residents may drop off items during business hours:
Cuyahoga Falls residents may drop off donations in the lobby of the police department at 2310 Second St.;
Stow City Hall is at 3760 Darrow Road;
Silver Lake Village Hall is at 2961 Kent Road; and
Munroe Falls City Hall is at 43 Munroe Falls Ave.
Additionally, there will be drive-thru collection events at the Silver Lake Village Hall and Stow City Hall on Saturday, Dec. 2, and at Cuyahoga Falls City Hall and Munroe Falls City Hall on Saturday, Dec. 9. The drive-thrus are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Knights of Columbus will be on hand to help at the drive-thru events.
