All four current Richmond City Commissioners file to run again

Feb. 17—The foursome of city commissioners currently seated have filed to run again, according to the Madison County Clerk's Office.

Mike Brewer, Jim Newby, Tammy Cole and Mendi Goble all will run again, but two others will join them. James Ebert and Ed McDaniel will join the four current commissioners on the ballot.

Ed McDaniel is back on the ballot after serving as a city commissioner for four years, McDaniel was defeated in the 2022 election.

Retired Richmond Police Chief James Ebert is making his first run for a spot on Richmond's City Commission. Ebert served as Richmond's Police Chief for four years before retiring in 2021. He served 16 years in Frankfort's Police force prior to living in Richmond.

Cole and Goble were new to the commission in the 2022 election cycle, while Brewer and Newby were incumbents in 2022. Cole filed to run on Dec. 20, according to the clerk, with Goble filing on Dec. 27. Brewer and Newby filed on Nov. 17 and Dec. 7, respectively.
