Four District 10 softball champions to be crowned as playoff pairings are set
District 10 will crown four softball champions on Memorial Day after a full week of playoff games next week.
There are no Class 5A teams in D-10, and McDowell has already claimed its 17th D-10 championship because of Erie opting out of the playoffs. The Trojans will have to win two PIAA subregionals to get to the PIAA first round in June.
The playoffs get started Monday with two Class 2A doubleheaders at Slippery Rock University and Penn State Behrend. Region 2 champion Union City takes on Mercer at 5 p.m. at Behrend after Seneca plays Wilmington at 3 p.m. The Slippery Rock doubleheader begins with Reynolds and Maplewood at 3 p.m. and ends with Iroquois and Region 1 champion Sharpsville at 5 p.m.
D-10 has scheduled three doubleheaders on Tuesday at Penn State Behrend, Allegheny College and Mercyhurst University.

At Penn State Behrend, Warren plays General McLane in a Class 4A game at 3 p.m. followed by North East and Sharon in a 3A game at 5 p.m.
The Mercyhurst doubleheader includes Fairview and Corry at 4 p.m. in 3A action before Region 5 champion against Fort LeBoeuf at 6 p.m.
