Four El Paso ISD schools head to 2024 UIL State Mariachi Festival

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Four El Paso ISD high schools have qualified for the 2024 UIL State Mariachi Festival, according to EPISD.

The school district says Austin, Chapin, Coronado, and Franklin High Schools have earned Division 1 ratings at the annual UIL Area Mariachi Festival held on Saturday, Jan. 27, securing their place in the state competition.

The four El Paso ISD high schools will now proceed to compete at the UIL State Mariachi Festival, which will be held in Seguin, Texas, from February 22 to 24. This prestigious event brings together the top mariachi groups from across the state, providing a platform for them to showcase their artistry and compete for top honors.
