Four injured in Friday morning vehicle accident

Nov. 4—Four people were transported to Mosaic Life Care, including one person with serious injuries, after a two-vehicle accident Friday morning.

The crash took place six miles east of Oregon, Missouri, along U.S. Highway 59 in Holt County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The crash occurred when a 2020 Kia Soul began to slide on the wet roadway and struck the front driver side of a 2020 Buick Envision. The Kia came to rest, blocking the roadway. The Buick came to rest after skidding off the roadway and striking a small cluster of trees, according to the crash report.

The occupants of the Kia were both residents of Forest City, Missouri. One was a 1-year-old boy who received minor injuries. The driver, 22-year-old Mackenzie Shaw, suffered moderate injuries. Both were transported by Andrew County Ambulance.

The occupants of the Buick were both residents of Oregon. Lilia Adkins, 71, suffered serious injuries, and Wayne Adkins, 72, had minor injuries. Both were transported by Atchison Holt Ambulance.

Everyone involved was wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, according to the crash report.
