Four Inter Miami players to compete in video tournament for coronavirus fundraiser

It will be a while before Inter Miami plays its next game, but fans can watch four players compete Saturday in Twitch’s Stream Aid 2020, a special sports, gaming and music event to benefit the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

Rodolfo Pizarro, Julian Carranza, Lewis Morgan, Lee Nguyen will compete against each other in a video soccer tournament from the safety of their homes, where they are quarantining during the coronavirus outbreak. Carranza and Pizarro teamed up to play for “Team RosaNegra” and Morgan and Nguyen will play for “Team Heron White”.

The event will be hosted by veteran ESPN analyst Fernando Palomo, who has been the official voice of EA Sports FIFA since 2013.

Inter Miami players’ matches begin at 1 p.m. and fans can watch for free on the team’s Twitch channel: www.twitch.tv/intermiami_cf

Inter Miami will participate for 70 minutes of the 12-hour telethon, which also includes musical performances. Viewers can donate to the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund during the tournament at https://donate/tiltify.com/+twitchcharity/twitch-stream-aid/

The club also announced it hired Andres Cordero, Ray Hudson, Fernando Fiore and Kaylyn Kyle to “bolster content offerings across the team’s mobile app and social media channels”. The commentators, all well-known in the soccer community, will be involved in local broadcasts of games once the Major League Soccer resumes.

“We are proud to bring these four on our Inter Miami journey this first season,” said Paul McDonough, Inter Miami CF’s COO & Sporting Director. “It was important for us to align with talent that not only understood the game through different experiences, but also had strong ties to South Florida so they can better connect with our brand and fanbase.”

Cordero, a Florida International University graduate, has worked as a commentator and presenter for GolTV and beIN Sports. He has covered soccer competitions and global tournaments throughout Europe, North America and South America.

Fiore is a two-time Emmy award-winning broadcaster from Argentina, who has covered world-class soccer events for many networks, including the 2018 FIFA World Cup, 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and 2016 Copa America Centenario.

Fiore is known as a studio host and reporter for marquee programs on the Spanish-language Univision Deportes Network/TUDN, including Republica Deportiva and Titulares Deportivos. He made his English-language debut with FOX Sports in 2016, after 30 years on Spanish-language networks, during the Copa America Centenario.

Ray Hudson, the English former Fort Lauderdale Strikers and Miami Fusion coach, is known worldwide for his colorful commentary and turns of phrase. He played for Newcastle United in England before coming to the United States.

He joined the broadcast booth in the late 1990s, and has worked for ESPN, GolTV, SiriusXM FC and beIN Sports.

Kaylyn Kyle is a former professional player from Canada. She represented Canada at the 2012 London Olympics, winning a bronze medal with her team, and at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, making it to the quarter-finals. She also played for clubs in Sweden and the United States, including NWSL teams in Vancouver, Seattle, Portland and Orlando. She was a 2019 Women’s World Cup analyst and is currently a reporter for beIN Sports in Miami.
