Four LHS students to compete at state speech event

Mar. 2—Four members of the Logansport High School Speech Team will compete at the state level.

The 2021 State qualifiers include the following students: Halle VanCuren (informative, 21st), Mallori Alder (radio, 12th), Nick Yax (Discussion, 14th) and Max Baker (Discussion, 2nd).

The team competed at the first-ever State Qualifying Virtual Meet, where more than 750 competitors represented nearly 80 schools across the state. The kids grew as speakers, technological problem solvers, compassionate teammates, and gritty competitors this season.

The top 24 competitors in each event qualify for the State tournament, which is slated for March 13.
