Four Mitchell Powerlifting Club members earn medalists in Brandon

Mar. 9—BRANDON — The Mitchell Powerlifting Club had four medalists at a competition in Brandon this past weekend. The club had 11 total lifters from Mitchell High School and one from Wolsey-Wessington High School.

Kenedee Browen, of Wolsey-Wessington, took second in the girls 138-pound class with a 635-pound total. Mitchell's Lauren Sparks captured a bronze medal in the same class with a 570-pound total. Mitchell's Paige Guthmiller took fourth in the girls 113-pound class with a 385-pound total. Dawson Dierks added a fifth-place showing in the boys 130-pounds with a 620-pound total.

Other Mitchell lifters who competed were 130-pounder Dustin Kurtenbach (615 pounds), 145-pounder Colby Ostbye (690) 165-pounder Nolan Youngbluth (775), 183-pounder Gabe Guthrie (675), 205-pounder Dylan Richey (915), 231-pounder Brady Wilson (775), 264-pounder (Camen Max (730) and 264-pounder Carson Jennings (895).
