Four people injured, two critically, in Manchester motor vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon

Four people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Manchester Tuesday afternoon.

The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. near West Center Street and McKee Street, police said. Four vehicles were involved.

“Four occupants of the vehicles were transported to area hospitals, two of those with suspected life threatening injuries,” the Manchester police department wrote on Twitter.

Police said that one car was driving east on West Center Street and drove into oncoming traffic and struck a vehicle head-on.

The man driving the vehicle that traveled into oncoming traffic, and the woman driving the car that was struck head-on, suffered “significant life-threatening injuries and [were] transported to a local hospital by ambulance,” police said.

“Two westbound vehicles behind the vehicle struck head-on were then also struck,” police added.

Two people in the third vehicle involved suffered non-life threatening injures and were transported to a local hospital. The fourth driver wasn’t injured in the crash.

Police believe “speed appears to have been a factor in this collision.”

The investigation remains ongoing, anyone with information should call Ofc. Jonathan Sargolini at 860-643-3342.
