Four new principals take helm in Tuscaloosa city, county schools

At least four schools in the Tuscaloosa city and county school systems will have new principals as the 2022-23 year begins Aug. 10.

In Tuscaloosa City Schools, James Rainey Jr. comes to Northridge Middle School after serving as principal at Carbon Hill Elementary and Junior High School in Walker County. Rainey's appointment as Northridge's principal was announced in May by the Tuscaloosa City Board of Education.

In the Tuscaloosa County School System, three principals move into new roles this year.

Lucretia Prince moves from leading Crestmont Elementary to the principal's job at Davis-Emerson Middle. Laurie Presley moves from being assistant principal at Holt Elementary  to principal at Taylorville Primary and Lindsey Thompson moves up from assistant principal to principal at Northside High.
