Five shot, one fatally, within an hour Wednesday, Baltimore Police say

A man was killed in a quadruple shooting in the 1900 block of North Dukeland Street around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Baltimore Police said, and a man who was shot elsewhere in the city less than an hour earlier is in critical condition.

Police responded to the 1900 block of North Dukeland Street at about 6:35 p.m. for a shooting.

Upon arrival, Southwest District officers located two men, ages 49 and 40, both suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds in the Walbrook neighborhood.

A third shooting victim, a 32-year-old man, also was located and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said in a news release around 9:45 p.m. that a fourth shooting victim, a 30-year-old man, walked into an area hospital seeking treatment. His injuries were non-life-threatening, police said.

Less than an hour before that incident, at about 5:45 p.m., Western District officers responded to the 2500 block of Edmondson Avenue for a ShotSpotter alert.

Moments later, officers received a call for a shooting victim who walked into an area hospital and was seeking treatment.

Officers responded to the hospital and located a 59-year-old man who was suffering from gunshot wounds. As of Wednesday evening, the victim was in critical condition.

Detectives said this incident occurred in 600 block of Whitmore Avenue in the Rosemont Homeowners/Tenants neighborhood.
