Four-star cornerback Daylen Austin commits to LSU football

Four-star cornerback Daylen Austin has committed to LSU football, he announced Monday on Twitter.

Austin, the No. 16 cornerback and No. 143 prospect in the nation according to 247Sports Composite, attends Long Beach Poly in Long Beach, Calif. Alabama, Penn State, Georgia, Oregon, Nebraska, Michigan State and Southern California were among his final eight schools.

LSU cornerbacks coach Robert Steeples was Austin's primary recruiter.

At 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, Austin is the first cornerback, third defensive back and sixth recruit to commit to LSU's 2023 class, joining safeties Michael Daughtery and Ryan Yaites, tight end Mac Markway, wide receiver Omarion Miller and running back Trey Holly.

All six commits are four-star recruits and only Daugherty does not crack the top 200 of 247Sports Composite's national rankings. LSU also has the No. 15 recruiting class in the nation and No. 5 class in the SEC.
