Four-star, MUS guard Curtis Givens III headed to Montverde Academy in Florida

Memphis University School star Curtis Givens III is headed to Florida to enroll at Montverde Academy, his father Curtis Givens II confirmed to the Commercial Appeal on Thursday.

Givens said Montverde had been recruiting his son for about a year .

"They saw him play during the first EYBL session and they said they had to have him," he said.

Montverde Academy is a preparatory school and one of the prominent basketball teams in the country. Former Montverde players include Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid and Cade Cunningham.

Givens isn't sure yet when his son is going to officially enroll, but said it should be around August.

"Things picked up when he took a visit and stayed three days," he said. "He just fell in love with them."

As a sophomore, Curtis helped lead a young MUS team to the Division II-AA state quarterfinal. He was named to the Commercial Appeal All-metro second team.
