Four teams rise, Tascosa drops one spot in latest DCTF rankings

The latest release of Dave Campbell's Texas Football high school football rankings had eight teams from the Panhandle included in the top 10 of their respective classes.

The Tascosa Rebels (6-1) dropped one spot and are now ranked No. 9 in the Class 5A Division I rankings after a closer than expected 21-10 win over District 2-5A Division I rival Lubbock Monterey. They will have their bye this week before returning to the field on Oct. 20 against Caprock.

Following their bye week, the unbeaten Canyon Eagles (6-0) remained at No. 9 heading into a District 3-4A Division I matchup against winless Hereford.

Bushland (7-0) rose up two spots in the rankings to No. 4 following a 34-0 shutout win at home over a strong Muleshoe team. The Falcons will continue their push for a District 2-3A Division I title when they travel to River Road to challenge the Wildcats on Friday.

Canadian (4-2) also moved up the rankings to No. 4 in the Class 3A Division II rankings following a 62-28 road win over Childress. The Wildcats will host the Spearman Lynx this week for their next District 3-3A Division II battle.
