Jun. 15—Four cars piled up in a crash Tuesday night on the Allgood Road overpass over I-75, sending several people to the hospital, one with critical injuries.

Marietta police said a Chrysler 300 was the first car to be crossing the bridge around 10:30 p.m. when it hit an object in the road. The driver, 18-year-old E'qwan McCrea of South Carolina, slowed down his car and eventually came to a stop.

Officer Chuck McPhilamy told the MDJ that Darius Johnson of Conyers, 24, was driving a Chevrolet Malibu and collided with a GMC pickup truck. The truck itself then hit the Chrysler 300, along with a fourth car, a Volkswagen Jetta.

Multiple occupants of the various vehicles were hospitalized. Johnson — the driver of the Malibu — was rushed to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Marietta police ask anyone with information about the crash to contact Officer St. Onge at 770-794-5352.
