MANITOWOC - A pileup involving a sedan, a pickup truck, a charter bus and a semi truck and trailer injured one and shut down Interstate 43 northbound Wednesday night near Manitowoc, the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office said.

First responders were dispatched to the scene shortly after 6:45 p.m. Wednesday. They arrived to find four vehicles blocking northbound lanes on Interstate 43 near Manitowoc County JJ.

The preliminary investigation found a pickup truck and trailer had lost control while traveling northbound and jackknifed, entering the right ditch.

A sedan and an empty charter bus then collided with the semi trailer.

The sedan driver, a 25-year-old Marinette woman, was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the sheriff's office said.

The bus driver was uninjured.

The status of the semi and pickup drivers was not released.

The northbound lanes of Interstate 43 were closed while first responders cleared the scene. The road reopened around 10:25 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

The crash is one of 26 in the county as a result of Winter Storm Delilah affecting most of the state. Most have resulted in property damage and only a few injuries, the sheriff's office said.
