Four Weddings and a Funeral cast: Where are Hugh Grant, Charlotte Coleman and Richard Curtis now?

It's the news we've been waiting for - Four Weddings and a Funeral is returning for a one-off Comic Relief special.

Fans of the 25-year-old rom com where overjoyed to hear the cast had reunited for a spin-off titled, One Red Nose Day and a Wedding.

Lily James is reportedly set to star as Hugh Grant and Andie MacDowell's on-screen daughter, with Kirsten Scott Thomas, Anna Chancellor and Rowan Atkinson all reprising their roles from the original.

And ahead of the film's return for the charity special, we take a look back to see what the star-studded cast has got up to over the past 25 years.

Hugh Grant (Charles)

Four Weddings made Grant, and his then girlfriend Liz Hurley, a household name and he became somewhat of a staple in the rom com genre, often playing an awkward yet charming middle class Brit.

However more recently his performances across film and TV have been more diverse and widely praised, and have earned him his first awards nominations, in particular for Florence Foster Jenkins, Paddington 2 and A Very English Scandal.

Andie Macdowell (Carrie)

Already a famous model and actor by the time she appeared in Four Weddings, Andie MacDowell has maintained her successful career in TV and film.

She has since made appearances in independent films, adverts and on television, alongside bigger hits such as Magic Mike and recently in the BBC sitcom Cuckoo. She has been a L'Oreal spokesman since 1986 and has continued to appear in both print and television adverts for the company.

Kristen Scott Thomas (Fiona)

Scott Thomas scooped a BAFTA for her role as Fiona in Four Weddings and later an Oscar nomination for her role in The English Patient in 1996.

After a brief period in Hollywood, she returned to the theatre in 2001 and has continued to act to critical acclaim in a huge number of British and French productions on TV, stage and screen.

Rowan Atkinson (Father Gerald)

Atkinson was a famous face in British comedy circles by the time he appeared as the hapless Father Gerald. He continued to act on TV after the film's release, and also featured in films such as The Lion King, Bean and Love Actually.

From 2003 to 2018 he played the James Bond spoof the Johnny English series of films, and he has appeared in a number of different stage productions.

Anna Chancellor (Henrietta/Duckface)

After Duckface nearly married Charles in Four Weddings, Anna Chancellor has gone on to star across TV and film, including 1995's Pride and Prejudice, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, St Trinian's, Downton Abbey, The Crown and BBC comedy Pramface.

She has received BAFTA nominations for her work in BBC drama The Hour and an Olivier Awards for her roles in 1997's Stanley and 2013's Private Lives.

James Fleet (Tom)

After playing the bumbling nice-man Tom in Four Weddings, Fleet is perhaps now most famous for his role as the equally nice-but-dim Hugo in The Vicar of Dibley.

He's also made numerous appearances across film and TV, including Coronation Street, Death Comes to Pemberley, Mr Turner, Bad Education, Outlander, Midsomer Murders and a standout turn as Kevin's father in the 2000 film Kevin and Perry Go Large.

Charlotte Coleman (Scarlett)

Coleman continued to act in a number films after her BAFTA-nominated performance on Four Weddings, including the role of Portia Thompson in 1999's Beautiful People.

However she tragically died in November 2001 at the age of 33 from an asthma attack.

Already a well-established and critically acclaimed theatre actor by the time he appeared as the gregarious Gareth in Four Weddings, the prolific Callow has continued his successful acting career in TV, film and theatre on both sides of the pond.

His impressive CV includes appearances on Shakespeare In Love, The Phantom Of The Opera, Death in Paradise, Plebs, Lewis, Victoria and Abdul and joined his former castmate James Fleet on Outlander.

John Hannah (Matthew)

The film that catapulted him to fame, Hannah's other silver screen appearances include Sliding Doors and The Mummy trilogy.

Hannah has also racked up an impressive TV resume, including as Holden Radcliffe in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Quintus Lentulus Batiatus in Spartacus and Jack Cloth in A Touch of Cloth.

David Haig (Bernard)

Haig appeared alongside Four Weddings cast member Atkinson in The Thin Blue Line, and has been an ever-present on TV and theatre since.

Some of his acting credits include Killing Eve, Florenace Foster Jenkins, Dalziel and Pascoe, the remade Yes Prime Minister and a number of appearances on the West End.

Richard Curtis (writer)

Curtis continued to write after his Four Weddings breakthrough, specialising in the rom com genres with Notting Hill and Love Actually -his two biggest successes.

A winner of two BAFTAs, Curtis has also written films such as About Time, The Boat That Rocked, Bridge Jones, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again and for TV, including The Vicar of Dibley, The Girl in the Cafe and Roald Dahl's Esio Trot.
