Four New York men charged with assault of Sayreville High School student

Three men have been charged in connection with a shooting that took place Friday on Easton Avenue, said Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Vincent Sabo of the New Brunswick Police Department.

SAYREVILLE - Four New York City men have been charged in connection with an assault of a Sayreville War Memorial High School student in front of the school along Washington Road Thursday afternoon.

Christopher Edward Torres, 24, of Staten Island, was charged with aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit assault; Christopher Anthony Forlenza, 25, of Brooklyn, and Jeremiah Jason Dimedici, 19, of Staten Island, were charged with assault and conspiracy to commit assault; and David Martinez, 27, of Staten Island, was charged with possession of metal knuckles, according to the Sayreville Police Department's Facebook page.

The chain of events began when two male students at the high school, whose names were not released, became involved in a dispute, police said.

After school dismissal on Thursday, adult-age relatives and friends of one of those students involved themselves in the dispute, police said.
