What Fourth of July activities are planned around Watertown this weekend? Here's a list.

Communities always find time to celebrate Independence Day, especially if the holiday makes for a long weekend.

Here are some of the July 4-related events planned in and around Watertown in the days to come.

Thursday

Freedom Run 5K And Walk: Registration at 5:30 p.m., run/walk at 6:30 p.m., Jackson Park, Watertown.

Friday

Street dance featuring Lonestar: Gates open at 6 p.m., Shooters, 6 N. Maple St., Watertown. Urbandale Lane will open. Advance tickets $20, tickets $25 at the gate.

Castlewood baseball and fireworks: Castlewood Teeners vs. Hamlin, 1 p.m.; Castlewood Legion vs. Hamlin, 4 p.m.; Castlewood Monarchs vs. Castlewood Ravens, 7 p.m.; fireworks to follow the amateur game.

Saturday

Independence Day Bike Parade: 4 p.m., Lake Poinsett Recreation Area near Arlington. Gather in the amphitheater area and decorate bikes in red, white and blue. Park entrance required.

Sunday

Barn Dance featuring Janene and the Machine: 8 p.m., Goodwin Barn and Music Hall, $10 in advance, $12 at the door.

Goodwin Show and Shine: All day in Goodwin, featuring music by the Union Cattle Band.

Amateur baseball and fireworks: South Dakota Pheasants at Lake Norden Lakers, 7:30 p.m. Events begin at 7:15 p.m. and include a candy toss for kids, fireworks after the game.

Monday

Watertown Fourth of July Parade: Starts with candy toss at 1:45 p.m. at Fourth Street and East Kemp Avenue. Parade begins at 2 p.m. and heads west to Watertown Stadium.

Kranzburg Fourth of July Parade: 10:30 a.m., Kranzburg.

Fireworks: Begin at dusk at the Anza Soccer Complex in Watertown.

Fourth of July at Lake Farley: Fishing tournament for kids 14 and younger 3-5 p.m. at Lake Farley in Milbank. Fireworks at dusk.

Tuesday

Watertown Municipal Band concert: 8:15 p.m., Stokes Thomas City Park on Lake Kampeska.
