Fourth of July is No. 1 time for pet to run away, MDSPCA says

A warning this weekend for pet owners: More animals go missing on the Fourth of July than any other time of year. Now is the time to make a plan to keep your pets safe. They may be pretty in the sky, but for some pets, fireworks can be so terrifying that they run away. The Maryland SPCA's Katie Flory says in order to keep your pets from ending up in a shelter, there are some simple things you can do. First, walk your dog early in the day.
