Howell

The Howell Carnegie District Library at 314 W. Grand River Ave. in Howell will have Family Fourth of July Crafts from 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m. on Thursday, June 29. Register at bit.ly/3qG6r19.

On Saturday, July 1, there'll be fireworks displays at Taylor's Beach Campground, 6197 N. Burkhart Road, and Lake Chemung in Howell.

Whitmore Lake

The Whitmore Lake Fourth of July Committee will hold their 63rd Fourth of July Celebration on Sunday, July 2. The committee is a nonprofit and part of the Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce.

In order to support the committee, the Brighton Optimist Club and Eternity Brewing Company collected over $1,200 at their June Euchre Benefit. Kicking off the celebration at 6 p.m. is the Kiwanis Dunk Tank. Main Street from Barker to the Marathon Gas Station will close to traffic at 8 p.m. for the fireworks show. Fireworks begin at 10 p.m.

The rain date for Whitmore Lake Fireworks is 10 p.m. Monday, July 3. Visitors are encouraged to view the fireworks from Northfield Township Community Park, located at 9725 Main St.

On Tuesday, July 4, there'll be the Annual Kiwanis Fourth of July Parade at 10 a.m. A Banana Split Eating Contest begins at 2 p.m. Contestants will be "split" into four different age groups: 4-9 years old, 10-14 years old, 15-17 years old, and 18 and older. The cost to participate is two dollars and space is limited. To register, visit Dee's Place, 9876 Main St. in Whitmore Lake from 1:30-1:45 p.m. Tuesday.

At 10 p.m. Tuesday, locals can view the Boat Parade of Light. To enter, decorate your boat with festive lights and line up in front of Mac’s Marina at 9:30 pm. Judging will be at 9:50 pm. The winning boat gets an award and unparalleled bragging rights. For more information, contact Mac’s Marina at 734-449-4706.

Milford

At 10:10 p.m. Sunday, July 2, check out the Huron-Clinton Metroparks Fireworks Festival at Kensington Metropark, 4570 Huron River Parkway in Milford.

Brighton

At 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 4, Brighton will hold a Fourth of July Parade at the Brighton Area Fire Department, 615 West Grand Ave. At last update, the specific route was still being finalized and will be less traditional than in years past, given the streetscaping project.

Fowlerville

In Fowlerville, the Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Display begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 4, downtown. Food vendors will open at 11:30 a.m. and check-in for the Classic Car, Bike and 4x4 Show will begin.

Interested persons can register at the Main Pavilion on the day-of. Admission is $5 per car. Throughout the afternoon, in addition to a food truck rally and decommissioned military vehicle display, Kari Holmes will perform with special guest Keith Ozment.

The car show will run 1-4 p.m. with voting available 1-3 p.m. In the evening, there'll be a parade at 7 p.m. The fireworks, shot from the Fowlerville Fairgrounds, will begin at 10 p.m. Visitors can park at Fowlerville Community Park — 425 N. Grand Ave. — and Deforest Drive at 8610 W. Grand River Ave.

Gregory

The Gregory 48th Annual Fourth of July Celebration will kick off with a parade at noon Tuesday, July 4.

M-106 will be closed to general traffic at 10 a.m. Participants must line up by 11:30 a.m.

During the parade, the Unadilla Fire Department will sell hamburgers, hot dogs and brats at the fire station on Webb Street.

Cathy's Famous Baked Goods Bake Sale begins at 1 p.m. at Unadilla Township Hall. There will be face painting available in the playground and park.

Throughout the afternoon, there'll be vendors and activities, including The Magic Guy Jeff Boyer and a Pie Eating Contest on Webb Street. Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place.

There'll be music by The Leaky Tiki's Band at 6 p.m. Fireworks will launch at dusk. Parking in the ballfield is encouraged.

Hartland

At 10 p.m. Saturday, July 8, check out the Long Lake Fireworks Show in Hartland.
