QUINCY − A fourth suspect has been arrested in the shooting death of Jordan Wiggins, 32, at the Elevation Apartments in Quincy almost six months ago.

Dante Clarke, 23, of Brockton, was arrested by police this week at a Wareham hotel. He was arraigned in Norfolk Superior Court on 16 charges, including murder, masked armed robbery, kidnapping with intent to extort and misleading an investigator. He is being held without bail until a pretrial conference March 6.

Clarke was arrested on a charge of assault and battery on a police officer in September, before he was suspected in the Elevation case. He pled not guilty to that charge in Quincy District Court. He failed to appear for an Oct. 3 pretrial conference, causing a default warrant to be issued for his arrest.

Quincy police were called at about 12:40 a.m. Aug. 18 to 5 Crown Drive, part of the Elevation Apartments at Crown Colony, where they found Wiggins suffering from gunshot wounds near the stairwell leading from the building’s parking area to the residences. Wiggins was a resident of the building. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died.

Clarke is one of seven men who were indicted in the Quincy killing last month. He is the fourth to be taken into police custody. Officials are still searching for the other three.
