Fourth-ranked Hawks stay unbeaten against Wayne

Sep. 18—SULLY — Lynnville-Sully's football team needed just two quarters to set a new season-high for points this season.

The Class A No. 4 Hawks used two big pass plays in the first quarter to grab an early lead and then cruised to a 51-0 home win over Wayne on Friday during a District 6 contest.

Two of Lannon Montgomery's four pass completions went to Conner Maston and both of those resulted in touchdowns and Corder Noun Harder scored two rushing TDs and averaged nearly 10 yards per carry on his seven rushes.

The Hawks (4-0 overall, 2-0 in the district) led 30-0 after one quarter and held a 51-0 lead at halftime. Neither team scored during the continuous clock in the second half.

Maston opened the scoring with a 22-yard TD catch from Montgomery and then hauled in a 46-yard touchdown pass 3 minutes later.

Maston has six catches this season for 201 yards and four TDs.

Kyle Squires added to the Hawks' lead with a 10-yard TD run and Noun Harder's 5-yard touchdown run capped the first-quarter scoring.

Noun Harder went 26 yards to paydirt to open the second and C.J. Nikkel rushed 13 yards for a score after that. The final touchdown of the night came on a Lucas Sieck 2-yard TD run.

The 51 points for the Hawks is one more than the team's previous season high. They outscored their first four opponents 182-20.

The Hawks' defense held Wayne (0-4, 0-3) to 41 rushing yards. Mathias Torres led the team with 7.5 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss and Jager Huyser collected 1.5 sacks.

Carson Maston and Dawson James each collected five tackles, Lane Fisk registered four tackles, Squires totaled 3.5 tackles and Landyn Fisk, Jack Bowlin and Samuel Philby each had three tackles.

Conner Maston snagged one interception and Nikkel and Keegan DeWitt each recovered a fumble.

Montgomery was 4-of-7 through the air for 92 yards and two TDs. Maston hauled in two catches for 68 yards and two touchdowns and Caleb Rea had one catch for 17 yards.

Noun Harder gained 69 yards on seven carries and scored two touchdowns, Squires had 41 rushing yards and one TD on four carries, Nikkel totaled 25 yards and a touchdown on two carries and Aidan Stock had three carries for 23 yards.

Through four games, Noun Harder has 458 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. He's averaging 14 yards per carry.
