Fourth suspect arrested after Covington armed robbery

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The fourth suspect wanted for an armed robbery in Covington, Tennessee, was arrested Thursday night.

According to Covington Police, 20-year-old Kiyon Currie was arrested at 9 p.m. at a home on North College Street. Officers with Covington Police, the Violent Crime Unit, and a K-9 officer reportedly found Currie in a back bedroom and took him into custody without incident.

3 arrested, 1 on the run after armed robbery in Covington

Currie was wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a car wash on East Ripley Street. The victim told police that he had picked up three men and one woman from the Broadmeadows Apartments and drove them to Jackson, Tennessee, before returning to Covington.

Covington Police say that once they returned to Covington, one of the suspects told the victim to take them to the car wash. Police say that’s where the suspects robbed and assaulted him, pointing a gun at him and forcing him to surrender his wallet, car keys, and cell phone.

Kalisha McKinnie, Jayden Gayden, and Tavion Gayden have also been arrested in this case. Currie and Jayden Gayden have been charged with aggravated robbery. Tavion Gayden and McKinnie have been charged with facilitation of a felony.

McKinnie has also been charged with two counts of criminal simulation.
