Fourth suspect nabbed for 2021 Inwood killing over pricey jewelry: NYPD

Cops have arrested a fourth suspect wanted for a 2021 cold-blooded robbery in upper Manhattan where thieves were caught on video taking a watch, ring and gold diamond-encrusted chain from a father they had just shot to death, police said Friday.

Ramon Rodriguez, 18, was arrested on Wednesday for the June 21, 2021, killing of Milton Grant, 34, and shooting Grant’s friend, who escaped the scene with his life, cops said.

Rodriguez was charged with robbery, assault and weapon possession.

He was the getaway driver in the 4:45 a.m. robbery, not the triggerman who pumped a bullet into Grant’s head during the violent heist on Dyckman St. near Vermilyea Ave. in Inwood, police sources said.

Four suspects, all dressed in black and wearing masks, trailed Grant’s BMW through Inwood after spotting the victim and his friend, Randal Chacon, sporting flashy jewelry at a club, police said

Grant, the father of twin boys, was behind the wheel of the luxury sedan, parked with its hazard lights on, when a grey Honda Accord with the robbers inside stopped across the street.

The three perpetrators jumped out of their car, leaving the driver behind the wheel as they charged toward the BMW. One ran immediately up to the driver’s-side window, while his partners went after Chacon, 33, who was standing near the rear of the BMW.

Grant, whose sons are age 3, was driving away from the mayhem when he was shot in the head by one of the crooks with an apparent silencer on his gun, police said.

After the BMW crashed into a building, the gunman ran over and climbed inside to steal the dying man’s jewelry, video released by the NYPD at the time shows.

Meanwhile, the two other bandits grappled with Chacon, snatching the chain around his neck before shooting him in the groin as he ran for his life, the video shows.

Grant died at the scene.

In April, detectives arrested Edward Perez-Rosario, 23, Wander Rivera, 27, and Olbeny Diaz, 21, identifying them as the gunmen who robbed Grant and Chacon.

All three were ordered held without bail on murder, robbery, assault and weapon possession charges.

Rodriguez’s arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court was pending Friday.
