Foust elected to Lapel Town Council

Nov. 17—LAPEL — The third time was a charm for Roger Foust, who will complete the term of Noah Bozell on the town council.

Foust was elected Thursday during a Republican Party caucus and attended his first council meeting that night. He was chosen by the caucus over another candidate, Blane Trinkle.

During the caucus, Foust said he previously sought to fill a vacancy on the town board and lost a bid for a seat in the May primary.

Bozell resigned from his position last month after serving almost a year on council.

Foust, who said he grew up near Cicero and moved to Lapel in 2012, serves on the Lapel Park Board and works for the Noblesville Parks Department.

"I'm pretty dedicated to this," Foust said of serving on council. "This is a great community and I would like to see it grow."

Trinkle, who said he grew up in Frankton and moved to Lapel in 2013, is chief financial officer of MoFab Inc. in Anderson. His wife is a third-grade teacher at Lapel Elementary School.

"I wanted to get involved," Trinkle said of seeking the council seat. "With the financial background, I could make sure the town is fiscally responsible, and dealing with the budget made sense."

Bozell lost a bid for the Republican Party nomination for Madison County coroner in 2020. Bozell was caucused onto the council in 2020 and won election to the position in 2022. At the time of his resignation, he was council president.
