Fox Business Network to show behind-the-scenes of Wilmington Police Department Monday night
Viewers across the nation will get a behind-the-scenes look at the workings of the Wilmington Police Department Monday night as the debut episode of season two of Fox Business Network's "How America Works with Mike Rowe" highlights local officers.
The series is hosted, narrated and produced by Rowe — best known for hosting Discovery Channel shows "Dirty Jobs" and "Somebody's Gotta Do It," and narrating hundreds of documentaries. It showcases the individuals and industries that keep America going.
“There’s never been a tougher time to be a cop, and so I think that we need to tell more stories about the 800,000 good cops that are never going to end up in the headlines for the wrong reasons," Rowe said in a statement. "Men and women who spend their days serving and protecting the likes of you and me. There’s nobody more essential than them, and tonight you’ll meet a few, and you’ll see firsthand of why they’re such a huge part of how America works.”

According to a Fox News spokesperson, the episode was filmed in December 2021 when camera crews followed four WPD officers during the busy holiday season. The episode will give viewers a glimpse at the day-to-day lives of law enforcement officers in America.
Last season, the show spotlighted salt production, waste management and the lumber industry. This season will dive into the beef, corn and paper industries, among others.
A WPD spokesperson denied a StarNews request for a comment about the show, stating contractual obligations prevented them from commenting on details of the show.
The first episode of season two of "How America Works with Mike Rowe" is set to air on Fox Business Network at 8 p.m. Monday.
