Lynyrd Skynyrd singer Johnny Van Zant will join Brian Kilmeade when "Fox & Friends" broadcasts a segment of Tuesday morning's show from the Metro Diner in Ponte Vedra Beach.

Kilmeade will be at the diner for the morning news show's "Breakfast with Friends" segment, talking with patrons about the news of the day. Van Zant, who lives in Clay County, is scheduled to be one of his guests.

The show airs from 6-9 a.m. on Fox News Channel. The "Breakfast with Friends" segment was broadcast from Ponce Inlet earlier this month in the leadup to the Daytona 500.

Van Zant has a history with the show. He and his brother, former .38 Special singer Donnie Van Zant, recorded "Sweet Florida," a tribute to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, and debuted the song on the show last year.

Kilmeade, who reportedly owns a home in Ponte Vedra Beach, ruffled some local feathers last year when he criticized Jacksonville on the show. "The city of Jacksonville’s got such great potential. They’ve got these bridges. Beautiful scenery. They’ve got to rebuild that city,” he said last March. "It’s just a mess. The city needs to be revitalized. It has all this potential, overlooking the water."

He brought his "Kilmeade Live: The President & the Freedom Fighter" show to the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall in 2021.
